2.Profile Summary
Dr. Salameh is a Professor, Dental Educator, Research Scientist and Digital Dentistry
Specialist, with the ability to direct research centers, PhD projects and innovative ideas.
His scope of investigation embraces biomaterials, digital dentistry and 3D printing. He
directed 13 Doctorate projects for the last 5 years and published more than 73 papers in
PUBMED peer reviewed journals, reflecting his scientific international collaboration
with Universities and Academic institutions where he was a faculty member or affiliated
(Lebanese University, University of Pittsburgh, Siena University, Zurich University,
ACTA, Hong Kong University, King Saud University…). As an innovator in dental
education Dr. Salameh created the digital dentistry unit and integrated digital technology
in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels with a continuous emphasis in updating the
dental curricula to be aligned with the international standards while working on the
accreditation process and new teaching methods.
He is a skilled clinician practicing his specialty in prosthodontics and digital dentistry in
treating complex full mouth rehabilitation in Lebanon and UAE.
Dr. Salameh is an innovator and dreamer, with his latest cutting-edge project: “Center of
Excellence in 3D Printing, Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence” that will be a core
facility in Research, development and production supporting orthopedic surgeons,
oncologist, general surgeons and maxillofacial dentists in designing and providing 3D
printed guides and replacement. The other level of the project includes a start-up for the
development of “Robotics in Dentistry”. He is a key opinion leader and speaker for

7.Management, Development and Leading Positions
Research implementation at the Faculty of Dental Medicine:
In 2014, Prof. Salameh was appointed as the head of the research department, and
in cooperation with the Dean he relaunches the doctorate program at the Faculty,
providing international co direction for Research projects in different specialties leading
to 38 doctorates defended in 5 years (13 directed by Prof. Salameh) with around 220
publications in PUBMED indexed journals. The implemented strategic goals of the
Research Council are to promote research as integral part of education at both undergrad
and postgrad levels, to provide foster environment with cutting edge facilities to perform
innovative research leading to intellectual commercialization; enhance international
collaboration and knowledge transfer with renowned universities and institutions. In
2019, “The Center of Excellence in 3D Printing, Digitalization and Artificial
Intelligence” was created to lead the research projects into a higher level aligned with
latest technology development and its impact in clinical dentistry.
Digital Dentistry Unit:
In 2015, Prof. Salameh created the Digital Dentistry Unit at the Faculty of Dental
Medicine, with an implementation of the new digital curriculum in both undergraduate
and postgraduate levels. Latest equipment and software related to digital dentistry
(Intraoral scanners, milling machines, 3D printers, software..) were purchased and a full
training for all faculty members, students was conducted in order to integrate technology
in clinical training and patient treatment.
Coordinator International Relations Office:
In 2016, Prof. Salameh was appointed by the Rector of the Lebanese University, as
the coordinator of the Medical Sciences Faculty (Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and
Pharmacy) at the International Relations Office at the University headquarter. The main
task was to develop cooperation between medical faculty and regional/international
universities, academic/research institutions and organizations. More than 60 cooperation
agreement were signed with different institutions in USA, Europe, Russia, Korea,
China,….the cooperation strategy was based on students and faculty members mobility,
post-doc positions, funds raising, and knowledge transfer. Prof. Salameh implement thestrategy of involving the private sector in education by creating Research Chairs,
securing funds and future work opportunities to the graduates.
Curriculum Update and Accreditation Procedure
Prof. Salameh was involved in the dental undergraduate and master curriculum
update and mainly in preparing the data and files that were submitted to the
HCERES (French organization for accreditation) for accreditation application.

Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat received his BDS degree from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 2002.

He then attended a four year training program by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and received their membership degree in General Dental Surgery (MGDS RCSEd) in 2008.

He then participated in the Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) speciality training program supervised by the Royal College at Misr University, for his remarkable performance he was invited to become an instructor at this same program.

In 2011 he was appointed Deputy MRD course director at Future University in Egypt for their postgraduate speciality program.

He is the founder of the Diploma in Implant Dentistry training program in Egypt awarded by the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

In 2013 he attained a Fellowship degree in Laser dentistry from the University of Genova Italy and has been lecturing on the subject ever since.

In 2015 he attended several International DSD World tours and has reached the DSD Master level in DSD accreditations (1st DSD Master in Egypt)

In August 2015 he co-lectured the DSD World Tour in Cairo, Egypt with DSD Founding Members Christian Coachman and Livio Yoshinaga and was elected DSD Lecturer.

In 2016 he became an active member DSD International board as DSD Middle East Manager lecturing with Christian Coachman in the DSD Middle East Tour.

In 2018 he was elected president of Digital Dentistry Society (Arab Union) responsible for all arab speaking countries in the region.

In 2019 he was elected as a board member of Digital Dentistry Society.

He is the editor of the Fixed prosthodontics chapter and author of the Digital occlusion section in textbook (Digital Dentistry Science and Clinics)
